Public Action Plan
The Action Plan was submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for review and approved. English and Spanish versions of the document are available below.
The Resilient SRQ (Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery) Action Plan was approved on November 21, 2023, by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. This approves the preliminary plan for use of the $201.5 million Sarasota County received for the long-term recovery efforts from Hurricane Ian.
Now that the Action Plan has been approved, staff will continue to build and launch the programs outlined in the plan. Staff anticipate launching applications for its major programs in early to mid-2024 to include Infrastructure/Mitigation and Housing Programs. More information about open application periods, eligibility criteria, active solicitations, and other requirements will be posted at scgov.net/ResilientSRQ as soon as it becomes available.
Staff have worked diligently to begin building these programs while the Action Plan was in review and will continue this work until each program is finalized and applications launch.
